It is essential that your children’s eyes are examined on a regular basis, from a very young age.
Fiction- it is not possible to examine a child’s eyes, until they can read letters.
Fact- we have a wide range of tests and examination techniques available for children of all ages, from babies upwards.
Fiction- Children will get their eyes checked at school.
Fact- the school eye testing service is patchy and ineffective. Only a very basic test is done. We will provide a fully comprehensive examination for your child.
If your child requires spectacles, we have a wide range of frames available from completely free under the NHS voucher scheme, to £30+ for designer children’s frames. Lenses for under 16s are covered by the NHS voucher scheme.
Poor eyesight can seriously affect your child’s education. Many children have undiagnosed learning problems. We provide a free dyslexia screening service, to see if there is a problem. We can provide tinted overlays and lenses to help.
I hope to extend this screening service into local schools in the near future. |
